김태화 작가는 동양적 감성을 서양의 재료로 그리는 작가이다. 설경 속 자유롭게 자라난 소나무와 달과 들의 풍경을 그린 “노스텔지어” 시리즈가 있는데, 이번 아트부산 2025에는 달과 들의 풍경을 그린 작품으로 참가한다.
청보라 달빛이 내려 앉은 시간, 여린 풀잎과 꽃잎, 그 사이를 유영하는 나비. 그의 작품은 그리움이라는 감정의 조각들을 나비와 꽃, 그리고 잔잔한 자연의 이미지로 표현하며, 그 안에서 우리가 기억하는 과거와 연결된 감정들을 일깨우는 여정을 상징한다.
세계 문학속에서 자주 등장하는 달은 여러가지 의미로 상징되는데, 김태화의 달은 시간이 지나도 잊지 못하는 기억 속 감정 즉, “그리움”이란 기억을 꺼내게 하는 도구이자 그 기억을 펼칠 수 있는 무대와 같다. 작품 속 그려진 둥글게 떠오른 달과 그 달빛 아래의 풍경과 나비의 섬세한 움직임은 우리가 가슴 깊이 간직하고 있는 과거의 순간을 회상하게 하며, 어린 시절 달빛 아래 걸었던 들판을 이미지화 했는데 관람자의 마음을 위로함과 동시에 그 속에서 피어나는 애잔한 그리움을 담고 있다. 바라만 봐도 평온해지는 노스텔지어의 세계로 인도하는 여정을 느껴보길 바란다.
김태화(Kim Tae Hwa) 작가는 개인전 9회, 다수의 그룹전과 아트페어에 참가하였으며, 홍익대학교 미술대학원 회화과를 졸업했다.
Kim Tae Hwa is an artist who paints with Western materials infused with an Eastern sensibility. He is known for his “Nostalgia” series, which features freely growing pine trees in snowy landscapes, as well as serene scenes of moons and fields. For ART BUSAN 2025, He will be presenting works that depict the delicate beauty of the moon and the natural world of the fields.
In his paintings, the moment when the bluish-purple moonlight settles is gently captured—tender blades of grass, soft petals, and butterflies gliding quietly among them. Kim’s works symbolize fragments of longing through imagery such as butterflies, flowers, and peaceful nature, guiding viewers on an emotional journey that reconnects them with their memories and emotions from the past.
The moon, a recurring symbol in world literature, carries various meanings. In Kim Tae Hwa’s work, the moon becomes a stage and a metaphor—a tool that evokes memories too powerful to forget, a vessel of longing. The gently rising moon, the calm landscape beneath it, and the delicate flutter of butterflies in his paintings recall deeply cherished moments, such as walking through moonlit fields during childhood. His work seeks to console the viewer’s heart while simultaneously evoking a poignant and tender sense of yearning.
Through his art, Kim Tae Hwa invites viewers into the peaceful world of Nostalgia, a place where simply gazing at the scene brings a sense of calm. It is a journey into memory, emotion, and quiet reflection.
Kim Tae Hwa has held nine solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions and art fairs. He received his Master’s degree in Painting from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Hong-ik University.
